Are you willing?
I started to write this blog post awhile ago, but this week visiting my friend who has discovered she has an auto-immune disorder has rekindled my passion to actually complete this post! She has been struggling with severe pain and just a general not feeling good. She has tried supplements, etc, but just needed to try something different! She was willing to go to a different kind of doctor and is getting really good results by starting an AIP Diet. (Auto-Immune Protocol diet) The thing is… she had to be willing to take drastic action to get healthy and she had to find a doctor who was willing to think outside the box!
A few years ago this came to me as clear as a bell…… I finally figured out that you have to be willing to let go of old ideas and patterns in order to
fully embrace the new. Now I know this isn’t a new idea, but do you ever have those moments where you’re like “OH! Now I get it!”
I’ve been working on “reconstructing” my health for quite awhile now. I don’t know if I have ever told you all my personal history, but I suffered from migraines for years. These migraines started after a car accident that I had. I had always had trouble with headaches, but these were debilitating, awful, couldn’t function type of headaches. They stole a lot from me. They stole time from my family, they stole fun, they stole hours and hours of my life. Something deep inside of me always thought there had to be some way to get rid of the headaches, but like most people I listened to the Doctors who told me I had ligament and tendon damage and scar tissue, etc and that I would likely always have migraines. They wanted to go into my neck and solder the nerve endings….however, was I was more afraid of the side effects of that “procedure” than I was the migraines so that was a NO GO for me!
So skip ahead a few years of settling into my diagnosis, and dealing with migraines for years. All the while just wishing and hoping that there would be a way to get rid of them. Luckily I started working with a Naturopath and I was able to almost completely get rid of my headaches!! The doctors were wrong. I just needed to take care of my physical body correctly.
Just a side note for anyone who is thinking “I can’t afford natural health supplements and organic
food”; My migraine medicine cost well over $300 per month and that only covered 3-4 migraines depending on if I took one or two of the pills.
Another example: Some of you know that my daughter was in the hospital last fall. Again, I was in a totally different place about being willing to open up to new ideas. WE ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to accept the diagnosis that the doctors gave us. I treated her with natural supplements and energy work and she made almost a complete recovery. She has just a little tiny nit of residual but nothing near what their prognosis was.
SO how did this change happen?
The key is being willing to let go of all the ideas that the Doctors put in our heads over the years. Letting go of expecting illnesses to happen, or accepting that it is normal. LISTENING to that little nagging feeling deep inside of you saying it could be different, and trusting that if you take steps and are BEING INTENTIONAL about health, change will come.
Here recently (in the last few months) I’ve been having severe hormone migraines at a specific time each month…I had to get willing once again to change things up!
So let me ask you this:
Are you willing?
Are you willing to try a different approach?
Are you willing to let go of defeating beliefs?
Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone?
Are you willing to believe that you are worth it?
I’m sure you’re thinking well duh!
Yes I am willing, but sometimes it is harder to do these things that you’d think. We all have deep seeded beliefs in our subconscious whether we know it or not. The basic beliefs are generally one of the following: “I’m not good enough. No one will want me. I can’t do it – If I try I’ll fail”
If you’re willing, YOU CAN make the changes! Be Intentional about your life and your health and your happiness! Sometimes this is hard to do alone, so find a natural or alternative health consultant, and begin the journey to your new, better life.
In case you might be thinking you don’t want to give up “good food” here is what we had for breakfast today: Home made chicken apple sausage, with berries and coconut whipped cream! YUM! It was fabulous!
